Diagnosis and Treatment
Tinea versicolor is easy to recognize. Your doctor will probably know right away if you have it. He or she may take scrapings from the rash to view under a microscope, which helps identify the fungus.
It can take a while for skin color to return to normal
It's quite easy to get rid of the fungus but it can take weeks or months for the skin to regain its normal color, therefore it is important for you to continue to take your medication as prescribed by your doctor until the fungal infection is cleared.
